"love is in the Air"

...very close to valentine day....love is in the Air...I couldn't stop myself when I looked at a pretty pink Gemstone necklace with xoxo figures in between..perfect time to spend and remember the necklace ,its gonna be a memory for ever!

for those who dont believe in valentine or think its a marketing strategy,think why do you spend so much money on Diwali or Christmas,or even on an religious event,like all those rituals and pooja's to make God  happy?

God is within our self,like yourself first and be positive ,then only God will be happy..superficial things doesn't make him happy...

I am not telling to spend lavishly ,but one needs to be pampered and loved by the loved ones as love is in the Air...

..thank God its friday.... its very relaxing to think about weekend....where we get time to relax and spend some time with friends and actually shop around....
Its been very cold all this week ,lots of snow ,wind chill's and black Ice..after that came slush and flurry's again...
....I had a very hectic week,with work and home......last Sunday we saw Filmfare awards ...so much fashion and trends to see...as to what is goin on in india!
same day we had super bowl here,between packers and steelers...I had decided to see filmfare (DESI..ACADEMY)awards ,so I had recorded the event....and watched it later ...
talking about Fridays..its like a movie night followed by some good recipe...from my cookeries club .....spending some time with family...
In india I never thought about friday and gave so much relevance..as there was less of work ..and more of fun for me....so no tensions of work or reaching on time....on Dot...jus take it easy policy..US.....its exactly opposite..more discipline at work..and be very punctual....people like me who like to sleep ,its very difficult..getting up early..leaving kid to school,other one in day care....and then heading to my work...meeting ..all kind of people everyday..from every nationality and changing my slang according to their convenience...
..I have a friend..she has her friday dinner...at restaurants every week.....tried all eating joints and some upscale restaurants....other one goes for a movie every friday......all American friends order pizza every friday....or visit local cafe.. bars or clubbing....
I am very sober person for all of them....I cook food Authentic Punjabi food.... some starters with soup followed by a new dish...and then some desert...I guess at my place everyone looks forward to Friday.....its an awesome Day...as weekend is ahead to chill out and giving us a good break for next week to start with..a BANG!!!

Zumba

 

 last night I was at fitness studio for my aerobic class....ZUMBA...

I guess those who exercise know very well what I am talking about...its basically a Latin dance form of cardio , best to prevent any kind of heart disease....its blessing in disguise. For females it focuses on one of the common problem areas — the abdominal core....

Loosing 800 to 1000 calories in an hour...class starts with a warm up, followed by high-energy salsa, meringue-style dancing complete with lunges, clapping, shoulder-shaking and sashaying moves....

Zumba helps to break some monotonous gymming.."I decided to take Zumba fitness class because they utilize fun dance moves to keep you active. I like the fact that hour goes so fast” 

The word Zumba is derived from the Colombian slang word meaning to" buzz like a bee" or move fast.

One of the biggest impediments in any fitness regimen is mustering the discipline to stick with it. When you're dancing, say those who do it, you're too immersed in the movement and the music to watch the clock. ..

..it includes all hip hop songs and one Indian song ,every time I visit...its fun..to hear indian music and as our class has all Spanish crowd and me as an only Indian its fun...they started with the first track of Ricci martin..."livin la vida loca"...followed by .."we will ,we will rock you"..and then all Britney spears songs.....the instructor Marsha is very well versed with tracks and moves.I can see her well toned body....

it was fun with  Punjabi hip hop...Daler mehandi song and workout based on Punjabi folk dance Bhangra...which had all strenuous physical activity to keep up the heart level...

ending with a ballet dancing ,soft moves and then coming to a complete stop with  folding hands...

...its fun...try it!!

Pigeon

 

 today I remembered an incident looking at the picture of a pigeon...its down the memory lane.....
teenage was fun,I think everyone had loads of experiences and fun in that age.Life is full of aspirations and emotions are very profound in every way...
...We had fun during our vacations..my dad was posted in bombay (india )those days..so summers we were with our cousins in amritsar(punjab),almost seven to eight girls of same age........in a big house with a joint family and with all cousin brothers around us ,they made sure to keep an eye on us to be safe and sound before we leave and reach our respective homes....
we were not supposed to stand on any terrace or balconies alone....for obvious reasons it would attract boys...and for shopping there was always somebody with us..one day we got a chance to reach  terrace for some fresh air..as there was a power outage..and nobody was at home during that time...we laughed and danced on terrace and looked at the street ..the house was on intersection ,so evenings were very busy......
....looking down the street ..A pigeon fell down from somewhere injured and bleeding....we wanted to save the pigeon  before it gets crushed under the vehicles....unknowingly we started shouting at the traffic to save the bird...there were few guys on bike...they stopped looking at us as we were shouting and asking for help......we told them to help the bird..they looked at the bird,picked it up and as we came down to take the bird.....they smiled and handed us the bird...we said thanks and went inside...
the injured bird, we cleaned the wound and kept it until it was good...but the boys who helped ..started visiting our place more often for no reason..which was upsetting as the family would be mad at us...if they came to know
....one day we decided to teach a lesson...when these guys came...we told them to stop as we wanted to talk...one of my cousins tina.. who speaks Punjabi very well called him and  said"ader ah..gal sun..Kabootar chak nu keha c..bannan nu nahi.."(listen we told you to pick the pigeon up ,not to behave like a pigeon)..I remember the face that felt flat ...it was soo hilarious....and they were  never seen after that!
....I remember how much we thought of our parents and their dignity...unlike of teenagers of today..so much care and love from all brothers...joint family and respect for each other.....
today we all are married....and most of us are in US or Canada..we talk less and laugh more over the phones.....remembering good old days and sweet memories....
memories are left ....to share and laugh...blogging I guess is a hard copy to store them!!

intimacy in public places...

standing in an elevator...It was kinda so embarrassing...seeing two adults in intimate positions..I had no place to look....the damn thing was moving so slow..I wish I could break the door and get off the place....It was not only me ..every other person was looking here and there..
I mean why do all that in public places,its act of indecency..and shit for others..Mall is a very common site where most of the couples indulge in their fiery acts..basically its a free SHOW for others...
we were on vacation to Canada..on our way ,the car ahead of us moved abruptly ....my husband tried to control the wheel and with a result we had to change the lane..as we moved ahead..we saw a smooching scene while driving....why so much love while driving? that also at cost of your life......
....holding hands is no big deal but Yet a line needs to be drawn between decency and vulgarity.One may wonder at the motivations that make people display intimacies in public. It could be a simple show off or reassurance about the dedication to the lover. More practical reasons could be lack of places to have some exotic intimate moments. Despite the fact that the couple concerned may be truly devoted to each other, right or wrong has always been decided by the society at large and not by individuals.
""Love is expressed better in words and gestures in private instead of public show out." .......'

....storm and after.......

the storm that came on Tuesday ,night was welcomed by hubby with a glass of scotch...which he kept in snow to give it a natural chill.....I guess men always look for a reason to celebrate..ignoring the season .....this was kept outside on patio table when it started snowing!!!  .

 the storm started like this....as you can see....fine grains..accompanied by wind chill.....

my car within fifteen minutes after parking in the driveway.....

next morning......my hubby clearing the path and driveways....shovel,snow blower ,salt..anything that works!!!

the main porch also had snow...which is very rare ....since its all covered.....

this is the fair idea one can get....its the main road...but its all snow...thou the city has cleaned it!

thats the way to my house and front door......imagine the snow!!!

thats my hubby helping our neighbor who is seventy year old guy cleaning his driveway!

my poor mail box...how deserted it looks!!!

...the bushes all covered with snow ...looked like frosted cup cakes........

there is still lots of snow on curbs and side walks....though major highways are clean but still lot to be done ...once again thanks to all of you and your comments.....luckily everything was good ...no power outage or any-kind of mis-happening...life is back to normal...But that experience of watching the storm till 2am was awesome experience...how situation changed from ..very calm ...to an absolute storm with windchill's and tons of snow....mother nature showed us its role and its domination...all schools and offices were closed....there was no traffic...I took my car out in the evening to see what was going on...But it was absolutely quite....very slippery and most of the places were closed.....
today its very sunny say..lots of sunshine...everything is normal But with the snow all over the place it has lot of glare...one can easily go blind while driving...if you are not wearing sun glasses :)

Adversity!!

   
we are about to face crisis....jus an hour or so...we are away snow storm which has already created a havoc in other areas....the weather channel has been appealing people to prepare themselves for storm.....
A snowstorm that's expected to bring up to 5 inches to parts of the Lower Peninsula is making driving hazardous across Michigan..
its supposed to be heaviest snowfall ,all past records to be broken as per jan 2005...
Temperatures below freezing and wind gusts of up to 30 mph will accompany the storm.Local 4 Casters are reporting that the storm is expected to include "considerable blowing and drifting snow" in the southern and central parts of the state....
A high pitch drama...
The weather service said the heavy snowfall combined with high winds could create whiteout conditions, particularly on Tuesday night into Wednesday, making driving extremely dangerous in some areas. Snow drifts of 5 feet to 10 feet are possible.
Once the storm has moved through, bitterly cold temperatures are expected to grip much of the region. The weather service said wind chills as cold as 40 degrees below zero could hit parts of North Dakota and South Dakota....

• Between 1 and 2 inches of snow are expected to fall overnight and into Tuesday morning

• Snowfall is expected to begin between 7 and 10 p.m. Tuesday in metropolitan Detroit, around midnight for the Thumb region

• Peak intensity will be between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday, with heavy accumulation near the morning rush hour

• Snow could fall at a rate of 1 to 2 inches an hour at the storm’s peak around dawn on Wednesday

• Snowfall should end by Wednesday afternoon

• A total of 10 to 15 inches is possible

• Heavy snow and high winds could cause power outages, and force travel delays and building closures

• Strong winds will create significant blowing and drifting, reducing visibility

• Wind chills will be in the zero range....


preparation in case of power outage,fire places and logs of woods....enough groceries and winter clothes...
getting gas cylinders filled up....for emergencies!emergency lights or candles....and enough water or igloo to be stored....for unseen storm hitting Michigan and related places!!

Get the fuel ...filled in cars..for emergency purpose.....
