.... colors!

Colors I guess plays a prevalent role in the society...colour biased clothes are gender biased ...
I was looking at the pictures today on one of the social networking sites ..where a male(infant) is recognised by blue and ..a.female by (pink)which is very common in US..
I think being an Indian by birth where I was born and raised ..all colours were same and I grew up wearing blue tee or my bro often wore a powder pink shirt...and nobody said anything...BUT ...now I see there are big changes too..(in India)
...The reason I am mentioning this is...In US..all kids go by colours ..its in the environment and school system...( the blue day and pink day)
We were out for weekend and both my sons were sitting along with my cousins son...so all together three boys in the back seat..
We stopped on our way to MacDonald ...in drive-thru to get something for the kids
..Usually drive thru people don't understand and end up making mistakes....and I always say...its better to go inside and get food rather from a drive -thru...
...My husband placed an order for three boys ..kids meal...and we ended up getting two meal for boys and one for girl...and toys with them came in same manner ...in blue and pink watches even the cup for drink was also different...it had some girl y thing on the cup..
both the older ones picked up the blue (my son and my cousin's son),they are almost the same age ..and my younger one who barely three yrs old at that time ended up getting pink toy and the cup....
both the older ones laughed at his pink cup and pink toy..which made the younger one scream and cry ...as to this is for "Girls"....which made us stop the car by taking an exit.....the younger one who hardly knew to speak properly was making maximum noise ,not ready to touch the glass...I told my older son to exchange with him....He said" with tears in eyes "mom I am not a girl"..I said who is gonna see in the car ...its same drink and toy jus matter of colour...Kevin(my son)said...I will never eat this ...its sissy!!!( he and aryan both were in first grade)
I looked at Aryan(my cousins son)..before I could say anything he started crying ...Maasi(mom's sister) no...I don't want to eat anything ..all the three kids were crying....I mean such a noise for Colour!!!
we went to MacDonald again and brought kids meal  ...and made sure its in blue and for boys only!!!


....It may sound hilarious...But that's how it works...Men in Blue ..and women in pink....if exchanged its sissy for Guys!!
 ..right from schools to universities..kids are colour biased and recognise them-self in that way...
When I came first to US ..long back ..this trend was not there in India ..I was surprised when I had my first baby that all it has to be in BLUE..all nurses had stuff in blue for the infant,even diaper's ..the crib had everything in Blue it was so colour conscious....
But with time..it synced inn and now ..I think we ...go by gender biased colours only!

(...I usually write blogs on my varied experiences and people I meet...Something like Adult content I usually avoid reading or writing , maybe something I don't feel comfortable...
about females or my counter parts I generally try to be respectful in my blogs unless something really provokes me to write or something as eye opener)

..this lady I had heard and seen many times in public gathering and even on the political side ...covered by media!
I always wandered  why she flaunts  and tries to be a social figure ...though I never knew about her background and her source of money.....
I saw her with her husband and kids all the time....


...pondering over this thought one day to one of my friends I asked  about this women ....as to whose (industrialist )wife is she???
...when I heard ,I mean to hear such things about women was such a shame ...Character being ripped into pieces....I didn't believe her..cause how is it possible ...she is always accompanied by her family!!!
...It was then one day I saw her in a news paper for a campaign ..I was surprised by her looks and dressing sense,it was hard to recognise...she was the only women surrounded by men....it was a social gathering ....


.... sometime back I met one of my friends who's hubby is a fashion photographer....he is very popular in photography field.....I asked her as to who this women is???
..she said"this women migrated to US some thirty or forty yrs back and at that time immigrants were few ..and community was small she was a loner and she made money by all wrong means...or in other words ..she was a big time "SLUT"...
and guy she is married to ..knows everything and doesn't mind ....
....To me it was a shock.... as to what kind of Guy is that?? and now that they have lot of rental properties ..my Friend said...she does lot of charity work
CHARITY..I asked?? this kind of B****
After that I met many people who knew about her past.... but generally people have no respect for her...they laugh,make fun and crack jokes!!!
...with money there should be respect and dignity...A women's shines by her character good or bad!and so much desperation for money where you start selling yourself..is something not identified and agreeable with girls from good families!
what kind of examples are you setting up for your kids....?? it will take generations to get rid of this image ..even though there is open culture here but ... when it come to our culture and thinking as INDIANS ..the community doesn't spare anyone!
..A motherly figure and tag along is something where everybody takes you as laughing stock even though you have tons of money BUT no respect...people avoid you ...try not to stand next to you or even at times pretends not knowing you as friend!
what is use of this money at the end of the day? which brings only insults and disgrace!

weekend is here ..probably gone!!! sunday came and went ... soo fast...
I keep thinking ..I will do this on weekend or that will be done this weekend But weekend comes  with lot of aspirations and exuberances ..and leaves its marks for Monday....I always ask God....why weekend is not for four days??why why??
every good thing is so short lived!
Its an Easter weekend....all good stores and eating places are closed..people are celebrating Easter  today..barbecues and cocktails ..I can smell those in my back yard..
....I have a beautiful song which is one of my favourites....I love to hear again and again..Music by AR Rehman...(who made India proud at the Oscars)
BTW nobody ever asked me "why do you put songs on weekend?? "...
....any ways  I will tell only when you ask me!

Beach.

.....we were walking on the beach......
...I had worn my favourite colour peach......

....He looked at me said "you look as pretty as the day we got married"...

as he looked into my eyes and said "its been years we have been married"

I said "what happened to your pyaar (love)"
(he said)...its always you make silly mistakes and we end up in a war...

(I said)Please ....I never said you go and get it from the car...
(he said)...Hey !!..now it was your mistake and parking lot is not that far...

..As I got up ..holding my hand ...he said "I will get it ,parking lot is far"....
...as he came back and handed me the purse...I admired his qualities really are at par...

....love makes us understand each-other so Far...


.....I hope it always stays that well...and we don't yell....
.....accept each other as we are ,so that there is no war...

...Always,...people say ,men change after marriage as off before....
...I think its human nature and nothing is off for sure....


...Give them a chance and accept it as they are....
..they will care for you more ,then you are....

....this was my love story on the beach....

..I wanted to share this with my friends on my blog....
so that each one of us can remove" ThAT" misunderstanding fog...

and as we love and are ready to make compromises..
there are no guilt of disguises.....

Mindset!

....it takes a lot for honesty I guess ....or maybe environment plays an important role too...
I am surprised by the mind set and how people dont hesitate ...to make money by illegal means...
this is not the first time though ..I came across an exporter (india)..(usually suppliers) .
...I was talking over the phone about the products and references if he could give any before giving him any contract...
....We usually ...see the websites and check details of these unknown people before signing any contract...or making a deal...
he gave me his website address and details ....I Went through the website ..he was over the phone I checked the prices,this website was through weebly which is free of cost ......he said being a manufacturer ...its jus a sample to our overseas clients .....
I asked him his mode of payment ....he said he has a/c in US bank ....I was little surprised ....he doesn't have a SSN..how is it possible....??
anyways something was wrong ...somewhere I asked about the receipts of payments after delivery of products ...he said "we don't provide receipts to anyone ...as we don't pay taxes, nobody payes here otherwise what will we earn??
I said "I need receipts and proper documents to file taxes  "he said "Madam why do you pay taxes there? "save and earn more"I said it a corporation ".....we have to show IRS...and taxes are MUST...no ifs and buts in that!
He said "I can send you shipments in form of samples "not for commercial purposes"and you can avoid taxes and make money"I said okay...So how many times will you send this as samples"(I wanted to see what length they go and use illegal means)he said "I have my people on airport and agents they help me in customs we are regular suppliers and we send as samples only not for commercial purpose! 
  he was trying to convince me it happens and very common site to avoid taxes!you will never get a query from IRS
..I told him"Well I don't want to go ahead and thanks for calling"
...what a mindset...?? Man if country people think like that ..what will Anna Hazare do alone...corruption is deep down ...its in the roots ...spread all the way to apex...
I mean honesty should be within and as motivation to build the country to bring out the best of abilities and pay the country their dues for the business they are doing ....
this is not the first time I heard from indian exporters dealing it indian designer dresses or costume jewelry..,most of them do this unless they have their head offices in new york or chicago...they try every means to get a top dollar for their products but pay no taxes to the country...(seems like ....I don't care Attitude)make themselves rich to richer ...and least bothered whats goin on the other side!
its weird!
nothing can be done until and unless this kind of mind set is there!!

..weekend is here ..and so the fun begins..which is  short-lived :)
Oscar nominated indian movie Lagaan..one of my all time fav ,all songs are at par but this one captures my attention I love the fusion of east and west ...
simple yet very captivating music...
Amir khan one of very fine actors of Indian cinema ,I would place him above bollywood king Shah Rukh khan in every way..and small screen actress made her debut in this movie... Gracy Singh.
Vasundara Das ..sang the English version and did a complete justice to the song ..

Fashion show!

its been long ...I had been away with work and lots of other stuff....
Last week was very busy ...I  had to attend some fashion shows as everybody is out with their new summer Collection....
This fashion  show was for Islamic wearing ..A very Modest clothing and very elegant at the same time ...
Today in my Blog I would like discuss about this fashion show which was unique and different from all other fashion shows I usually go....the interesting part was ...How could a women look delectable with long dresses from top to toe!its strange... isn't it??
...it was the culottes or flappers with long flarry shirts in chiffon and crepe...Beautiful intricate designs in threads ....
all the models were extra ordinarily tall and and skinny .....and the length of the dresses were up to the ankles with at least three inches pencil heels down the ramp... all the dresses were in muted colors...
this was a  designer from New York displaying her collection for summers....
I cannot show any original pictures on my blog as these are private shows they don't permit ...its copyrighted...

But the pictures I have posted is very close to what I saw ...The bridal collection was awesome..But ended up in thousands of dollars ...Dubai and Pakistani collection  played its role in a predominant way....

Aqua green dominated the show with lavender and pinks......

Now the best part of the show....all models were called  again and the model who got maximum applause had an auction for the dress...it started in hundreds and went in thousands of dollars....A Sale on the Spot!

These auctioned dresses ,its money went for Islamic library to be  built..which was for a noble cause...now this show was sponsored by different companies But only one designer had an opportunity to showcase the collection....
Very graceful and classy stuff was proudly shown by the designer who later came on the ramp...she was an American Muslim (converted) women carrying this collection..


Flaunting or practically wearing nothing might be a fashion statement for many...But I always felt that a women's grace and dignity lies in her dressing sense and graceful persona....I truly felt women "the best creation of God" can look good in anything but all it needs is careful handling of its character and attitude!

..When I first met him ...he smiled and said...you live here..House No 28...(it was in India)I said yes...why? what happened...??

He said ..number 28 has always been with me throughout my life....my roll number was 28, my class was in 28 hall way .....number plate had a sum of 28 ,my house no has last two numbers as 28 one way or other I have been with this number...

I smiled ....thought may be he is trying to impress me!

Any ways...he never mentioned 28  after that!but I remembered it and noticed it more often....

We got engaged on 28 june (no other place was available)it was heavily booked..so we had to go with this option only...I was surprised...how numbers play its role...

...We came to US ....and the first house we brought ...we had to take an Exit 28 (Ann arbor road)to reach that house...I looked at the house it had number (435)28 in the end  again...I smiled and told him....to see that ..."number 28" how it is attached to him and  his stars....

....We were watching world cup together .....where India won After 28 yrs..

Giving him a hug I said....28 has A great impact on our lives....

he Smiled and said... yes it has been a lucky charm to me!

..Seriously I can't believe ..how this 28 is so associated with my hubby and our lives...Numbers I guess plays important part in our lives!

WE WON!

..We Won the World Cup Cricket...after 28 years....it was an Awesome win!!
.....I jus cant express my happiness..I Danced at every boundary..I got chills at every wicket down....and Tears trickled down when I heard people cheering Vande Mataram for the country!
I am proud of India  ...It was a well deserved win... Indians all over the world are congratulating each other....

Such a charismatic play, on the other hand  so much boost from the crowd ...it was worth watching from five thirty am to one forty pm....

Thanks to all the country men and players..keeping up the flag high
