shock of my life!

....
its been a long time away from blogs and friends,,, hope you all are doin good ...
I missed many posts my apologies for that..I would definitely make it to that empty space left for me.
...I had been going thorough a very busy phase of my life... some personal stuff then my parents finally migrating to Canada .. so we as a whole family would be close-by now ... my both bros and me ...I havent seen my parents for long its something a dream come true...
I have been going through SATYAMEV JAYATE episodes and being a very sensitive person ..I cudnt sleep whole night thinking about the torch-er a lower class has to face picking up the shit of others... my heart goes out ... I thanked God several times my parents dint do that and I was not born in that class...I left my dinner when I heard all that the guy was narrating and the video shown..
MAN!!!
have we progressed? what is the use of these high end malls? those high end cars ...where the filth is in minds ...so much difference ,,in masses n classes ..why?
its sad...
Dad asked me "wht happened to you ?"you look drained out ...I said I cudnt see that they showed...
he said" imagine people who are actually doin it" try to help ...the weaker section..
it was an eye opener ..living in india all my childhood I never knew the reason of hatred to lower class and what work they made them do!!
I am still in shock ..how could one human be so cruel to another!!
"For a country which has been independent for 65 years, it is a matter of shame that we have not yet shaken off the tyranny of caste-based discrimination. Countless people have to live in degrading conditions, children are unable to go to school, employment avenues are closed, and even education does not open bigoted minds. No measure of progress can be true unless the question of people’s equality is factored into it. And we can only be considered a progressive nation when we refuse to accept caste differences."

Harman,

It is sad state of affairs. In many rural areas people still have to go to open fields for morning rituals, just imagine plight of women. Fortunately awakening is taking place but very slow. In a couple of villages young brides refused to go to husband's place unless toilet were constructed in the houses.

Take care

Absolutely agree with u friend..one sensible chief minister called MGR of tamil nadu removed caste names from all streets..appreciate his guts..y cant they start somethign like banning caste names and not asking for caste names in forms..oh then our politicians will go out of jobs...they want divisions..

"they even did the last census in the name of caste"
just see how honestly our government wish to eradicate this social evil....

The thing is that it is difficult to put a finger at the exact spot where the decay is. For example female feoticide is done (and encouraged) by some of the mother-in-laws and mothers who themselves are females.
The so called 'educated' ones too indulge in the brutal punishments given to their maid servants at home.
The list is endless.

Hi Harman,
After so long!
wish you a happy birthday,belated.
The caste system is a part of our history, and in many areas,we have made significant changes. But keeping reservations and such allowances, will only emphasize the castes. It is time we totally get rid of such a caste based promotional activity, and turn attention to the poor.
