TaGGEd!

Thanks for tagging me Bikram..http://mann-bikram.blogspot.com/but you have put me again in a tight spot...
I have to answer these set of ques given by BIKRAM...so here it is to the best of my ability..

1. What one material thing are you hoping/ scoping to inherit?

ME:my moms musical cosmetic box which she got on her wedding day...its simply awesome!

2. You were a character in a movie that you've seen who would I be and why?
ME:JIM CARREY...the Mask...I could scare everyone...he is such a good actor ....

3. If You could do one thing for Someone, no matter what it was, what would it be for Who?
ME:I would donate my eyes to any kid ..him or her and let them see how beautiful the nature is created by GOD.

4. You’re driving. It’s great weather. Attractive member of opposite sex in expensive car looks at you and half-smiles. You’re in a relationship. Do you return the look and half-smile back?
ME: half smile or full smile is no big deal ..in fact a part of good manners if you have an eye contact..BUT..beyond this is something I would never indulge into.

5.Pick a situation
a. You’re 42. Would you rather go without sex for three years and win a lottery after that, enabling you to never have to work again? Or
b. Get twice the lottery money now (at 42) but have your partner sleep with your boss?
ME:...Lemme bypass this!!! its a weird ques....

6. What has been the craziest thing u have ever done?
ME:UMMM...tried a hard drink ..once ..and I jus couldn't stand....it was embarrassing in fact..collapsed....

ME:...again weird...jus kick both of them out....same time ..same day...

10. Would you rather your kid turn out to be a nymphomaniac or gay?(For my amusement, please answer in the format: I would rather my kid be —)

HOPE ...a poem..

What hope means

Hope is bright shining light which keeps darkness at the bay
Hope is gentle cold breeze on a hot summer day

Hope is to remain positive when going gets tough
hope is seeking more when others think u had enough

What hope means

Hope is dreaming of tomorrow
Hope is simmering under sorrow

Hope is sparkles when tears in our eyes
Hope is a beautiful thing & beautiful things never dies

What hope means

Hope is as light as a feather
Hope keeps all of us together

Hope is ubiquitous and free of cost
hope is the last thing ever lost.....

keep your hopes alive!

Better indians!

...Going through all the blogs and articles ....where people cant stop criticizing india living in india itself...
Criticizing the government..
Criticizing the cost of living..
Criticizing the infrastructure...
Criticizing the mother nature...
Criticizing the very own people of india...
Country is made of people living in the place itself..good, bad or ugly ...one has to agree on this what we do, is what we get...its not one person who makes it bad..the whole brigade gets into it...
Where is the dedication towards the country? most of the youth enjoys western lifestyle living in india wearing American brands and using american Slang ..but if somebody says I like living in US is considered as bad indian ...I would rather ask..why are you showing your double standards here as an Indian??
India is a great country with largest democracy in the world ..Indians have always kept the indian flag high no matter where we live ..Indian are known outside India as Hardworking, honest and cultured people irrespective of the religion we come from...we as NRIs staying outside india has always proved ourself as good indians when it comes to crisis...
I think we are all indians irrespective to the place where we live and should be respected for that....
All the time we keep reading that...Indian kids tops spelling bee contest or an indian takes the cake for scholarship...or an indian doctor saved a life...many stories...
Steel magnate like Mittal has made a name all over the world or hollywood director, actor Shyamalan has proved his worthiness as Indian...are these people not good indians?
Its very easy to pass judgements on others, international platform gives an equal opportunity to all..its matter of worthiness....big time doubts needs to be cleared when it comes to ...
Whos the better Indian?

Maturity.

...I was at work....this lady came inn to meet me ..she was of our clients supposedly,I met her for the first time...looking at me she asked..u r ? I am indian by nationality ...if thats what u meant....I said...she smiled and said YES..you got me right ..I know about India...little bit culture and food...I smiled ...before I could go ahead ..she started talking about her personal life ,as she is married to a chinese guy and then how they met....I was little surprised and then she came to her personal love life ....I didn't know where to look...(I don't want to give fine details here)...then she asked me some questions ....expecting something from me too....I kept quite and I started talking about the work she had come for....Exactly ...so that better use of time can be made...
She said... you seem to be an introvert person! may be culture difference ?I said
she said OK...which part of india are you from?... North(punjab)I said....this is your original hair?she asked ...I smiled ..yes ...its not a wig...looking at me seriously ...she said I am red head you can see but originally a blond and this hair is red as I had put indian heena (mehandi..color)..it changed my whole persona...
Couldn't control my laughter I laughed...she laughed looking at me....
I thought how can people be so immature when they talk.....I mean to a complete stranger they say whatever they like ...do we get mature by age? Nope...I think some never get mature...neither age or experiences ....to me,
Maturity is ability to think ,speak and act your feelings within the bounds of dignity.

Boundaries..

love transcends every boundry it may be religion, nationality or race...
Recently I was reading a very interesting article an example of east and west fusion of marital kind..
An American women named Witney Stalker from our neighboring state Chicago went to Jaipur(rajasthan) for vacation... hired an Auto to see the pink city ,Harish the driver was guy.. four days later happily married...
I could see him as a smart ,bright and happy guy..she says and decided to go ahead for marriage...
....Harish says he discussed his feelings while showing her the pink city...and knew she was a right person for him and his family...
Witney doesn't understand Hindi, and Harish's family is trying to give her a crash course in the language. But that will have to wait till the newlyweds return from their honeymoon - in America....
there may be many stories like this which I might not be knowing ...but isn't it strange to know a person in four days and get married....forever...??

What do you think of this nuptial knot?? is it fair??

Bobby Jindal.(congressman)

India, the world's largest democracy, has a very diverse population, geography and climate. India is the world's second most populous country, and the world's seventh largest country in area.
Indians have made a mark everywhere in the world...resident or non resident indians...
..very few people reach to this overwhelming stage ...bobby son of an immigrant is one among them...
Bobby Jindal, only the second Indian American to serve in the U.S. Congress, has a resume as impressive as some politicians in their 60s or 70s. Yet Jindal was only 33 when he became a congressman. By then, he had already run for governor of Louisiana and almost won, directed a system of universities in Louisiana, a huge department of state government, and a national commission made up mostly of U.S. senators and congresspeople.
Jindal was born in 1971 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to parents who had just moved there from India to attend graduate school. They gave him the name Piyush, but when he was four, he told them he wanted to be called Bobby, after Bobby Brady in the television show The Brady Bunch. Though his parents are Hindu, Jindal converted to Christianity in high school. He attended Brown University, then went to England as a Rhodes Scholar for graduate work at Oxford University.
Jindal was sworn in as Governor of Louisiana on January 14, 2008.He was elected Governor of Louisiana on October 20, 2007, with 54 percent of the vote in the primary, winning 60 of 64 parishes.Shortly after taking office, Governor Jindal called a Special Session to address comprehensive ethics reform, the cornerstone of his election platform. Since the conclusion of the session, the Better Government Association and the Center for Public Integrity announced that Louisiana’s new ethics laws are among the best in the nation.

Bobby Jindal is the governor in the US and his wife Supriya, who is also 37, is the youngest first lady. She was born in India—her mother was a stay-at-home mom, her father an engineer—and moved to Baton Rouge when she was four years old. She worked in a chemical plant in Louisiana while earning her MBA from Tulane. She married Bobby in 1997. Unfortunately, Bobby’s recent response to President Obama’s national address received mixed reviews, putting the governor and his wife in the media spotlight.

there have been many criticisms against Bobby Jindal regarding his adoption of catholic religion and Indian community standing against it...but to me before any religion a good human is more important ,irrespective of the fact where or what religion we come from,I think good and noble deeds makes us a divine person whether its catholic or Hindu.
All the hard work Bobby jindal has done for Louisiana state is commendable rising against odds and making his way to enter hearts of the common people

frozen..food.

..talking to one of my friends "kiran"who works for Ford ,I was surprised when she said I don't cook ...its difficult with work and then come home and cook...I asked ..then what do you eat? she said ..I cook on weekends and freeze the left over food ..for weekdays...and then frozen dinners from stores stacked in my freezer....
..this is very common in US...most of the working women don't cook..their kitchens if u see ..its like all granite with higher end appliances and decorated with recipe books and flower arrangements.....its untouched...I was initially surprised thought how clean people are in US..but later came to know the life style.
kiran is my one friend but we see there are many other people who do the same, I mean frozen food markets runs on this fundamental of working women.
when kiran asked me what I do ..I told her I cook every day after work ..and if I am at home I cook twice a day..I cannot eat same thing or left over food... I learnt cooking for this ,I cannot take inn lousy food... and the important thing is...I like to cook and try new recipes...
Talking of frozen foods ..its USDA approved but nothing can beat the fresh food...all healthy with no preservatives...if one knows to cook it takes maximum half an hour to be done with laying the table....it all depends what we like and what we can do...
Frozen food industry has expanded over the years ,all kinds ...even Indian food in abundance ..Walmart,Meijer's ,Kroger all American grocery stores have them too....in their Asian section..
..all dough or cake mix or even cooked rotis(pitas).. fresh its available at indian grocery stores $2 for 12 ..which is dirt cheap... so ladies think why to cook or bring grocery...
I have tried all this but still I say the taste of fresh food cannot beat any other food!
and looking at the expenses its half the price if we cook at home and more hygienic compared to where its cooked.
Kiran ,said ..you are a spoilt brat wants to eat everything nice and fresh...I don't care my family is happy with frozen food and we don't eat Indian food that much...kiran has been here for last thirty years and her life style is more Americanized,I can understand that ,but If we see her kids one of the kid is always sick having some serious allergies... may be immune system is weak...
..Its always we work hard for good food and comfortable home and end of the day if we still have to eat ..left over or frozen food then whats the point of earning in hundred thousand and still sick after all this so called luxurious lifestyle.

indian Summer...

Recently ..I have been hearing lot about Indian weather and its effects...anybody you talk has the same story there are power cuts, scarcity of water ,generators and inverters are giving up ..heat strokes ..people passed...I mean so much discussion about climatic conditions.
Talking to one of my cousins ,she said I usually go to mall and spend hours there...if it was possible I would sleep there..
As far our infrastructure ..are we in a pathetic state ? where basic necessity is not available like light and water...I mean building up malls like US and Europe... putting up brand names, flashy cars... so ...where is the basic necessity...?
Born and raised in India...only mumbai doesn't have a power problem as far as I know...rest all the states pass through the same channel....
It was always like that ..even when I lived in India...summers were bad..I remember sitting in the balcony whole night and calling up electricity department in the morning and yelled at them ....the guy said" we cannot say about that ..but the power cut will start again at 2 pm.."..
Sometimes I missed my college as there was a power cut at night.... I mean when we hear news that people died of heat as there is no electricity... country is in sorry state of affairs....???
why???
when the country can afford to give hot line services to higher officials(where there is always a regular supply of electricity)why not some relief to a common man...
I think basic necessity needs to be taken care off ....
Its warm here in US too..but life becomes better with regular supply of water and electricity...
we do not have domestic help here...all cleaning or washing is done by us with help of appliances like dish washers or vacuum cleaners or washing machines... so..electricity plays a main role...and I guess the reason work goes uninterrupted all the time....
I think if we overcome the electric and water problem life in India it would be much more comfortable and will be like any other place we live inn.
and nothing is IM M POSSIBLE

iphone Era

.As I entered the room I could see Iphone ..and Apple products ..starting from imac to ipod or ipad I mean every other person is carrying it...I met a gurl, may be a high school kid clicking pictures on iphone..Is it free ?I thought.... no wonder why steve jobs sold two million ipads in sixty days.....he creates a rage ....most of the time in doctors office or library or waiting rooms...we can see this scene...
Once I travelled from windsor (canada)to Toronto by train..I was surprised how mechanized the system has become..every other person sitting was having a higher end gadget......
I remember few years back there were no cell phones even... and most of the people were engaged in books or news papers... but cell phones especially iphone has taken a front seat ..with internet ..like at airport where wireless facility is available ..people are jammed to their seats... and very quietly browsing the web..
Steve jobs ..CEO apple is goin to launch their new and better form of Iphone.
iPhone 4G in the next week’s ...Worldwide Developers conference said that... The new iPhone will once again be offered with AT&T as the company has already held off vacation of many of its workers for the months of June and July..I pity those people....as they are planning to release 4G...but Steve jobs keeps mum if asked about his new product....SMART GUY!! I must say.
This guy (steve jobs) really knows how to squeeze money out of peoples pocket...
I mean its a rage he creates and then it goes on and on...until there is new one coming up..Apple has higher end products..and their exclusive store has some real good accessories... but most of the time I see people even kids carrying ipod and stuff... I mean looking at the expense..its surprising.
I think in this age we were so naive only knew how to use rotary phones or jus cd players... but times have changed and I guess ....smart phones for smart people!!!
