Diva!

I have fascination for divas..looking and hearing about all these Amazing women...A class in itself ,trend setters with innumerable qualities...whether its Jennifer Lopez or Angelina Jolie,Kate Winslet or salma hayek or my all time favorite Catherine zeta jones our indian Diva Ash or Sush...

But I always admired Sushmita Sen ..Indian Diva and former 1994 Miss Universe....
I had always seen lot of sophistication and class in her beauty..A tall beautiful women 5 '10,with no nonsense kinda attitude and grace to carry herself..
Sushmita Sen is the original diva – attractive, witty, charming, and living life on her terms. Her ‘essence of a woman’ answer won her the Miss Universe title, the first for an Indian. She adopted a baby against all odds becoming a single mother......
Sushmita Sen is a Bengali, born on 19 November 1975 in Hyderabad, India. Her father is Shubeer Sen who worked as an Indian Air Force Wing Commander. Her mother Subhra Sen is a jewelry designer and also owns a store in Dubai called Renee. She has a brother, Rajeev and a sister, Neelam.
She studied at the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute and Air Force Silver School in New Delhi. She studied English and also holds a degree in journalism.
she decided to adopt a child which wasn’t an easy task as she is unmarried and involved legal hassles. She officially adopted a girl, Renee, in 2000.
The 34-year-old actress, has adopted a three-month-old girl named Alisah this year,I mean if we look how many people are there who can take this bold step and give a nice home to a child from orphanage...
There are millionaires ...giving millions to charities .ex ..Donald trump and many others like him but I think very few have an approach of this kind and then guts to face the Indian society being an unmarried women!!!
Hats of to this women !

LOVE

Love is the common topic ..discussed online and every time...
I mean so much fuss....I think ... "Isq ka bhoot savaar hain logon par"(people are crazy for love)
If a gurl doesn't like you ..then I will die..
If its a one sided love ...then..I will kill ...
if she is getting married to someone else...then I will kill both..
nobody is happy..all complains...whether its a boy or a gurl....
I think maturity plays a main role in this, people spoil their careers and lives not realizing the situation....all guys are hero's and females are bollywood or hollywood heroines...Ask them a question about their academics and they cannot a speak word about it...jus very few are articulate...I mean everybody wants to be singer or a dancer ...look at the media,so many reality shows seems like there is no other work ...
Ishq ka bukhaar hamesha thaa...(fever of love was always there)
I remember an incident in our university days...I was doing masters...A senior ...had fallen in love with a gurl...but it was one sided... this guy was a brilliant student we can say a prodigy kid(genius)...but he was lost in thoughts all the time in the campus...I asked someone why is he in such a pathetic state?
They said he is Harpreet Noorie...I was surprised by the last name ..as it sounded different ..So I asked my friend, what is Noorie?she said ,its a name of the gurl he likes and he is addressed by his friends as Noorie...
We came to know one day that this guy dropped few of his papers and ones in which he appeared stood first in the university, usually if we drop a paper the university doesn't allow us to appear again unless its on medical grounds, but university people had sent him a letter to appear again seeing his grades..which he appeared later and stood first again in the university ..later on he became a director of Markfed Punjab as PCS(punjab civil services)...he could have easily cleared IAS too but ..seems like love was at priority that time..He later got married which was supposedly an arranged one!
We met him once at his place in India.. all his old friends still call him "noorie"probably his wife knows that too...
But I am surprised how we get mature with age and time only, not before that...and many a times we just spoil our careers and overlook our own capabilities assuming as we are not in that race anymore...

Some quotes on Love...

"Love the heart that hurts you, but never hurt the heart that loves you."
"Love is fire. But whether it's gonna warm your heart or burn your house down you can never tell."
"To love is to place our happiness in the happiness of another."

Heros of Indian Army!

I have always been fascinated by Indian Army...My dad being my idol served the country and my cousins and half of the family serving the country, few have laid their lives also...

India has many unsung heros .....one person I came Across as real hero of Indian Army...is
General Harbaksh Singh....Modern India s greatest Soldier..

Born in 1913 in Badrukhan in Sangrur and having graduated from Government College at Lahore, he was commissioned into 5 Sikh in 1935

He was a graduate of the 1st course at the IMA after a year's attachment with a British battalion, The Argyl and Sutherland Highlanders, wherein he saw active service on the North-West Frontier. He commanded a company of 5 Sikh in 1942 in Malaya against the Japanese....

Severely wounded in the head, a steel plate which he carried to his last day was a constant reminder. He was in a military hospital when General A.E Percival, the Allied field commander, surrendered all Allied forces in Malaya and Singapore to the Japanese in 1942. Then followed three years of a miserable existence and near starvation as a Japanese prisoner of war.

Released at the end of the war in 1945, he remained in hospital for some months with beri-beri and other problems brought on by malnutrition and inhuman conditions in Japanese POW camps.

Posted as second-in-command of 4 Sikh on release from hospital, he was perhaps the only deputy ever to ride a horse on parade in an infantry battalion, as he was too weak to march.

There have been three episodes in his brilliant military career which make him stand out as one of the most outstanding commanders in modern Indian history...

Field Marshal Lord Wavell, seen apt for describing General Harbaksh Singh: "He was essentially a soldier's soldier, and takes an assured place as one of the great commanders in military history".

Gen Harbaksh Singh died, his funeral was on November 15, 1999. Very few knew about it, therefore apart from his friends and contemporaries, former officers of the Sikh Regiment of which he had been colonel for over a decade, , gathered at the Delhi cantonment to say our final farewell.

The Army did him proud by giving him a send off befitting a great soldier. And while the ceremonies were on, and six Lieutenant Generals removed the National Flag from the body which was to be cremated, I couldn't help wondering how fortunate it was for the country to have had the right man at the right place at the right time....

My blog is dedicated to ...The Real Unsung Heros of Indian Army...

Punjab is proud of all such sons who have lived up to its highest cherished values. "Courage in the face of death!"

Soldier, rest thy warfare is o'er,
Dream of fighting fields no more;
Sleep the sleep that knows no breaking,
Morn of toil, nor night of waking.

Truth!!!

I think truth and truth only wins all the time... memory plays a very significant role.....its always said if you speak truth ... nothing can replace it...but recently I have been seeing that sometimes people lie and forget ..the previous statement they made....may be they think others are also like them...
I remember people and statements very well...recently I met a women after five years and immediately I recognized her..she didn't recognize me though..but was appreciating ..my memory as they met me in a party with whole group....
...To me only ..truth matters...and I think before we make a statement ...we should know the repercussions as ...I think you don't fool others you are fooling yourself..
BY TELLING A LIE...
nothing personal...but when we speak truth ,nothing can overlap that statement...and then there is no fear of getting embarrassed...
ITS A THOUGHT.

Rumalees...(restaurant)

Rumalee is a new mughlai restaurant in town ,few days back one of our clients ..came to my office to get some business from us,he mentioned this Restaurant and said" Food is too good"..he was our pakistani client so urdu was impressive..His style of talking made me smile all the time, gesture of greeting with a hand on his heart and bowing his head ..was something impressive ..He spent almost two hrs in my office talking about the culture and then coming to indian food...he is an editor in urdu times USA..and wanted to make some money though advertisement...
...In the end he said.."Mohtrama app zaroor jiye ,bahut unda pakwan hai unke"(mam you must go,the dishes are too good)I smiled..and said SURE.
I called the restaurant and reserved a table ..as it was mothers day...Outside the restaurant people were waiting...I went inside and asked for table we reserved ,the lady took us to the table...Man this is a fish market...no ambience, crowded with noise level like an amusement park..I looked at my hubby..he smiled and said its ok...take it easy!
It was a buffet with sixteen dishes ..and different desserts...I went to the table and saw most of the bowls were empty or left overs...I asked the waitress ,a blond girl standing next to me..Can you refill this? she looked at me as if she is lost in the fair....without answering she left, Disgusting!!..I went back to the table and waited for food to come inn...The food was good, tasted good but management was poor... some kids dropped water in the corner and there was a pond I could see..nobody bothered to clean it up... the manager and his team were lost...
At last I went to get some dessert...but all the bowls were empty...I came back looked outside the window ...there were people waiting..I thought waiting for what? there is no food inside..
I told my husband ..what BS is this?I want to talk to the manager...holding my hand he said..we wont come here again... so no need to say anything ..But we are paying for this food...I said...he said "NO"next time we will go only to Mac Donald's n no other place.. (as he smiled)...(he is very kind hearted person)and I don't take craps, this kind of treatment where people are waiting for food..I went to the buffet table ..I saw they immediately opened Haldiram's tins of dessert(gulab jamun) and served in the buffet...
..After paying the bill I went to the manager..with my mom (mother-in -law)and rest were in the parking lot waiting....
I talked to the manager..he was keeping his pitch low as other customers were watching him and said ..this wasn't anticipated ...and we are trying our best... and during weekdays its neat and clean and service is good too...please come again..( I thought you must be kidding!!)and for anything good we always have to pay the price..I said "SURE"...I will make improvements....I know its chaos here ..but I cannot refuse people...(I thought you cannot refuse Dollars) its our hospitality( I thought no,its your mentality)....Nyways I left and came outside...
Mom n me smiling at each other ..for what manager said...
As I opened the car ..my hubby looked at me..so you had your word with manager? yes, I said ..gave him my peace of mind.......
smilingly he said ......hope you will be able to sleep better tonight :p

Mothers Day (9th may 2010)

9th May is Mother’s Day- the one day in the year when we focus on taking time out to celebrate mothers and give thanks to them. In many places across the world cards will be made and flowers given out to mothers within the congregation. Spare a thought for those who have never been a mother.....its a blessing to be a mother!!!
its a mom who creates a world and make it stronger place with love and affection all over the world ....Moms play an important role in the family too.A kid always picks up from his or her mom (whatever she says)...kindness ,politeness and teachings are from moms as the mothers stay home most of the time even if its a working mom,to raise a kid its a full time job my hands are full I can say that..I have always been close to my mom though I was pampered by my dad more being an being only daughter after two sons ,but since moms stay with kids all the time so the children are attached to their moms more then dads. Its always said if a girl is educated and well read ..A generation is made..So a female should be taken care of whether its studies ,general habits or character..foundation is made from very first day.
Looking at the importance of mothers day,its just a small gesture of love or a token of love given to mom which we might have taken for granted but on this special day its for moms we need to reciprocate that...Specially for guys who always thinks its a marketing strategy and there is no need to show love with gifts or treat and moms are always in our heart..and blah blah blah...to them I would say..." Guys nobody is going to open your heart and see how much you love your mom but a small gestures brings smile and gives us blessings which is priceless".
I think we can never pay back for what our parents have done for us until we become a parent and then we realize, but there are people who never realize this till end of their lives.
I have seem some generous people who visit old homes and give a treat to all moms as their own moms and get blessings..on Mothers Day ..but those kinds are very few....
...TO ALL OF YOU "SPEND SOME TIME WITH YOUR MOMS AS A TREAT TO HER FOR ALL THAT SHE HAS DONE FOR YOU ,I THINK WE CAN NEVER PAY BACK BUT AT LEAST GIVE HER A SMALL GIFT SHE DESERVES AND YOU GET SOME BLESSINGS IN RETURN"
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
