Radio channel!
we recently had a new radio channel ..10:90 AM ..probably the first one to have all Hindi songs twenty four hours a day ..Its very new; just three months old .... I came to know from one of our friends..I have it in my car ..listening to whole new and old songs while driving....I was coming from work it was raining ..and the song that these guys played was..from an old movie.."zindigai bhar nahi bhoolegi woh barsaat ki raat"I smiled and thought are they putting purposely looking at the weather...its nice..even if its done intentionally...
This channel is started by some lady from Toronto ..presumably a Pakistani...but the songs are from Indian and Pakistani movies...some Punjabi songs too...there are some songs and ghazals I never knew...basically its all by requests of people...
Now the reason I am mentioning this was the people have all praises for Indian songs ..their old favorites songs sung by mohmmed rafi and lata mangeshkar...and the Indians who are requesting have all praises for Pakistani singers..Nusratfateh ali songs,noorjahan,shamshad begum...the shyiari etc....its like reciprocal ..all love against each other...
Today I was driving at work...I thought "see how these country people are all praises for each other "songs and requests ..knowing the culture so well...But back home..scenario is different...is it politically motivated there?
so much has been written on India and Pakistan...the whole world knows about it...
why cant we change our thinking...and create love for each other like this!!

Wow AM Radio, That is cool. There are numerous Internet Radios but it is not the same.
India/Pakistan rift is very deep. It will take a long time.
Yes the rift is deep, but not impossible to bridge. But then the basic question of what drives a nation to unity. If it is hatred to another country, and that can be politically exploited, then the rift can be permanent. Why is it different in US for people from both the countries there, just because they are not fed the daily dose of hatred. They are not exposed to it. The old saying, say it many times, sooner or later the people will start to believe it.
hmm...I still think there is way out...for love and harmonay there is always a way....
But it always depends on how hard you are striving for it?
India and Pakistan cultures are almost same..yet we are so much different...
But as world is a coming together by communication...our singers are making that communication to bring us together...
I hope for the best to all the Indian Singers...and for Pakistanis.

The truth is that musicians have no future in Pakistan.Most of the known Paki singers have made it through India.
It is not only a matter of politics.Recently Latha Mangeshkar was denied a visit visa to Pakistan to attend a function.Can you believe it.This is at a time many Paki singers are living in Bombay and making it good.
The country itself originated from ulterior motives.How do you expect relationships to improve?

I just love 24 hrs old songs....unfortunately World Space who used to do that in India has suddenly gone "bankrupt"
Zindagi bhar nahi bhulegi..... is a wonderful song acted out by none other than the lovely and versatile Madhubala, but the same cannot be said about the hero (Bharat Bhushan)
Can you please let me know, if you need to do any thing to get this radio channel, or it is free. I would love to have this in my car too. I only listen to the radio, #1 I donot usually go a buy CDs and never bothered to hook my ipod in my car. And listenting to radio keep me updated with all new music that releases.
But Hindi songs in a variety, what more can you ask for :-)
Its hard to shake hands with them as they keep on targeting India and India also has so much evil thought and view abt them that its impossible to nexus with them
oh yes harman that what we do ... here abroad we are all pally pally but back home we do anything to hate each other ...

@Gardenlane..its free..Its a Michigan Radio..try 10:90am today its always playing Indian songs ..seems like your are jus like me..I have no time to listen to new hindi songs or keep a track..completely out of it..unless somebody mentions..
its blessing in disguise for people like us..lost in their world :)

I don't think people have any objection to being friends with each other (be it Pakistanis or Indians!)... If we can be friends here then we can certainly be friends in our own countries!!
It's the uneducated Idiots that we have elected to run our wonderful countries a.k.a. politicians that make sure this doesn't happen because then what will they feed on ??? If you take our India-Pakistan Fued and Religion Debates then what is left for them to make money out of???
Let's hope we start getting an option to electing sensible educated people to make decisions for our countries's fate... and then we can possibly have a friendly neighbour!!
